I totally agree, I love all bats. I still remember when I rescued a lil common pipistrelle who fell down the nest. They live in the crackles of my house. I love listening to them during evening. Bats rule!

@TheFandomKid The common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus) is a small pipistrelle microbat whose very large range extends across most of Europe, North Africa, South Asia, and may extend into Korea. Pipistrellus is a genus of bats in the family Vespertilionidae and subfamily Vespertilioninae. The name of the genus is derived from the Italian word pipistrello, meaning "bat" (from Latin vespertilio "bird of evening, bat"), so yeah you are right.

fun linguistic fact: pipistrello is the modern form of the archaic word vipistrello, an assimilation process occurred. It derives from vulgar Latin *vespertillum, diminutive from Latin vespertiliōnem (vesper means "evening" in Latin).

Awwww, what a lovely bat story^^ I hope the lil guy managed to survive. When I found this guy I downloaded a bat first aid PDF in order to know what to do and what not to do, I even went to the vet to have some 10 ml syringes, without the needle, to feed the animal before releasing during evening so the mother could get him back (yes, he was a male). I kept him warm with warmed cloth since he was probably 5 days old. I could hear the mother and the lil guy calling each other so I think she managed to bring him back to the nest.

@TheFandomKid heheheheh, I feel you. I am the same. Whenever I learn something new I tend to adsorb rapidly and I like to share it with others whenever I can.

"Uomo pipistrello" is the literal translation of the endocentric closed compound batman and English is a language whose compounds have the head (the word that determines the syntactic category of that phrase) placed on the right, in this case "man" in batman. Romance languages, like Italian, have the head placed on the left i.e. "uomo" in uomo pipistrello.

You can take care of them by volunteering and/or specializing in bats if you want to pursue a scientific degree. Agreed on the wild animal part.

It’s sorta like the moths, people hate them cause they aren’t colorful, but when you look at them more closely they are absolutely adorable. Bats are the same! But look this up on YouTube, Honduran White Bats.
